This meeting is very important to our community. In 60 days our Mayor plans to turn the Bedford Atlantic Armory into the intake center for all five boroughs. All homeless men who need services from the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island and Brooklyn will have to go through this facility in order to get any services.
Keep in mind that before going to intake these men are not assessed. Therefore, we will have men in our community who have lost their jobs and are down on their luck as well as Level 3 sex offenders, pedophiles, etc.
We are not opposed to handling our fair share, but when it comes to homeless shelters and half way houses, is this the only neighborhood the mayor can come up with?
The Bloomberg Administration has reneged on their promises and we must make them accountable.
